Inspiration: This past week I final took my first Les Mills RPM Indoor Cycling class. The Grand Rapids area YMCA has been rolling out many of the Les Mills group ex programs (BodyCombat, BodyPump, Body Flow…and RPM) since early this year along side all other “free style” classes previously offered. My class was a good one and varies from other cycling classes I’ve taken in the following ways: specifically selected music tracks, mostly EDM / extended remix tracks, a standardized ride profile, increased focus on interval work, emphasis on movements that follow the music, no specific references to the numbers associated with RPM/cadence or gear/resistance. See the end of this post for links to other RPM resources. Do you teach or have you taken Les Mills RPM cycling? What do you like (or not) about this format for group Indoor Cycling? About this playlist…you’ll see more interval work here (in the form of sprints) and some really good new tracks (Fire N Gold, Don’t Worry, Ghost Town/Tritonal Remix) and good repeats (Burning Down The House, Obsession, Kangaroo Court, Illuminate). Have a great week!

I have not taken RPM yet but I’d be interested in taking it to see how it compares…I think I prefer the more freestyle formats of cycle though especially if I am teaching it! I like to color outside the lines a bit and get creative with music.
