First Ride: SoulCycle / Washington DC

Last weekend, while visiting family in DC, I managed to squeeze in a Saturday morning ride with my godson / nephew Braden…his first SoulCycle experience! I just wanted to share a few highlights (this isn’t a full FIRST RIDE post and will be a quick read!). I’ve posted other FIRST RIDE reviews for two Chicago studios: Old Town and Loop.

Instead of pre-booking in advance with their mobile app, we just walked in for an 8:30AM class with Savannah…fortunately a few bikes were still available. This was my 4th or 5th class, but Braden’s ride was at the reduced FIRST RIDE rate…including cycling shoes, water, and towel!

The 14th Street studio (opened August 2014), is situated near the popular U Street…and comparable to the Chicago studios. There’s also another DC location in the Georgetown neighborhood (for the next time I visit!).

I was impressed to see the extra special attention given SoulCycle newbies, like Braden…welcoming, bike fit / adjustments, recognition at the start of class, and check-ins during the ride. Savannah was great with her coaching, music, and energy. Had this class been an hour our two later, I’m sure it would have been on a wait-list (so don’t always assume you can just walk-in just before class and get a bike!).

All this SoulCycle talk reminds me of a favorite FIND IT marketing campaign launched in April 2017…if you haven’t seen it, HERE it is!

Thanks SoulCycle, Savannah, and the 14th Street team for a great Saturday morning RIDE INSIDE!
