Another kind of RIDE: An UBER Obsession

With this post my FOR THE RIDE INSIDE site makes a slight change in course.
I’ll post Uber updates here, infrequent but informative. If all this Uber talk is confusing, then maybe you haven’t yet heard about the popular and quickly growing ride-sharing business that spans the globe. It’s part of the new global economy…the Sharing Economy (http://www.economist.com/news/leaders/21573104-internet-everything-hire-rise-sharing-economy)!

Rather than crafting a whole new synopsis of how/when Uber was conceived, I’ve provided article/YouTube links below that will get you up to speed. But the bottom line: If you don’t yet have the Uber app loaded on your smartphone (Apple, Android, Windows device) and your own Uber account activated and ready for you to RIDE…take some time to get it done before the end of the day. While you may not have plans to hop into a taxi anytime soon, it’s always good to be prepared. You may even request an Uber just for the heck of it, to see what all the buzz is about. In the Uber world, there are RIDERS and DRIVERS, so maybe (like me) you’ll opt for the DRIVER role. BTW…at the end of this post is a link to help you create your Uber account and earn a FREE RIDE (valued between $20-$30).

The logical place to start is http://www.uber.com. The site is a great resource to learn about the leadership of the $18 BILLION dollar company.
