  1. Do you still use jumps as part of your workout? They’ve sort of fallen out of favor at my facility, but I really like using them, generally as the third/last song of what I think of as my warmup. They are the only non ‘cyclist drill’ I incorporate, but I really think they are fun. I’m wondering if they are still typically in use at other facilities.

    1. Jumps (or Lift as some call them) are usually in my mix for esch class. Either jumps (flat road) or Jumps on a hill. I took a class at another studio recently and they had jumps too. Seems like tap-backs or other more contraindicated movements are used by some over jumps. I LIKE THEM TOO! Thanks

      1. At my facility, tap-backs are known as ‘hovers.’ I won’t do them in my class or anyone else’s either. It’s the only time I ignore the instructor – well also when they want me to grind the pedals at sub 65 rpm. I’m an old guy, I know what my knees can take.

      2. Smart guy Jeff! Hovers are no good in my opinion! I feel like the two are different, but both are not considered legit SPINNING movements for indoor cycling (certain wouldn’t see them on the road 😂)
